State Farm is here to help California customers impacted by wildfires

Customers with damage are encouraged to file a claim.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people and communities affected by these fires, as well as the firefighters, first responders, and volunteers who are working tirelessly to contain the fires. State Farm is here for our customers and our focus is on helping people.

As the magnitude of the losses in Southern California becomes clearer, our concern for the lives impacted only deepens. We are responding, as we always do in tragedies like this, to deliver on our longstanding mission to help people recover from the unexpected.

• Today, State Farm remains the largest insurer group in California, serving customers in the state since 1928. In LA County, we insure 250,000 homes and 880,000 automobiles. State Farm remains the largest insurer group in CA, serving more than 8 million policies and accounts.

• We are keeping our promises to customers. As of Tuesday morning (1/14/2025), we’ve begun to process over 6,700 claims, and we are putting tens of millions of dollars back into customers’ hands. We are prepared to address the growing number of claims expected as residents return and assess damage.

• California’s insurance market is uniquely complex, but we remain engaged with state officials to improve the availability of insurance for residents.
